Akon's Recent Interview With Shade Room About How He Helped Nigerian Musicians

After Akon's recent The Shade Room interview, the part people ran with was his views on polygamy. Instablog clipped up that part and posted for debates.  I thought that was the least significant part of the interview. The guy spoke about how much he poured into Nigerian artistes. Then he was a global phenomenon. He'd signed successful artistes like Lady Gaga and T-Pain. So his eyes were on Nigeria. He'd noticed that Wizkid was super talented but Banky W didn't have the resources to position him internationally. So he signed Wizkid to his label, Konvict Muzik. Their partnership helped put Afrobeats on the global map before others took things to the next level. Collaborations like "Escape" and "Don't Dull (Remix)" dropped, and Wizkid's international career took off!  His support opened doors for Wizkid's future global hits and collabs. Next, he developed artists like Psquare and D'banj. He said the music made by our artists ...

Michael Jackson's Biopic Was Released Over The Weekend To Eager Fans

Michael Jackson's biopic was released over the weekend.  The Michael Jackson biopic has opened to $217.4M worldwide, the biggest debut ever for a biopic.  Fans showed up in force, showing that his legacy still moves the culture and he is the biggest to ever do this.  But the next of kin that he left are the new enduring and biggest beneficiaries of this biopic.  Before he died, Michael Jackson had three kids and he left debt for them.  After his untimely death, it's believed that 40% of Jackson's estate went to his mother Katherine, while 20% went to charity, and the remaining 40% was split among his three children – Prince, Paris, and Bigi.  Those three kids are swimming in money that kids of their generation can only dream about.  Before he died, the estate was heavily in debt, but not anymore, and this is why:  The Michael Jackson estate, managed by John Branca and John McClain, has generated over $3.5 billion since his 2009 passing.  ...

Lady Claims VDM Is The Father Of Her Child

The Woman Who Claimed VeryDarkMan Fathered Her 9-Year-Old Daughter, The Full Breakdown by Fidelis Ozuawala. For those who couldn't watch the video, i couldn't too as the audio was bad, i used the transcript tool in the Learn with Fidelis platform to fetch out the audio, and i used the Optimize tool to optimize and proofread the texts, that's how i got this plain english. Listen and Enjoy!.. --   A woman walked into VeryDarkMan's office with one of the boldest claims ever.  She said VDM (Martins Vincent Otse) is the father of her 9-year-old daughter. VDM and his lawyer, Barrister Marshal Abubakar, sat her down and patiently dismantled her story piece by piece.  Here is how the whole drama unfolded. "I don't have a life of my own any longer, I am more or less a dead person" That was how the woman opened. Very heavy. Very dramatic.  She said the problem started 9 years ago in 2017, then corrected herself to 9 and 8 years ago.  The timeline was alr...

Wrong Bank Transfers Seems Only To Be Rampant With Fintechs

The speed I use when sending money on my Union Bank app is very different from how I operate OPAY app. With Union Bank, or any other traditional bank, it’s quite rare to send money to the wrong recipient. Even if an account number is similar (which is unlikely), the bank name won’t match, and the transaction usually won’t go through. That’s often when you catch the mistake. No matter how much we criticize traditional banks, cases of people sending money to the wrong account weren’t this common until banks like OPAY became widespread. It’s when you’re unlucky enough to send money to the wrong person on OPAY or Moniepoint that you realize how many dishonest people are out there, people who simply haven’t had the opportunity to take what isn’t theirs until now. Some of the reasons these onyeoshi people refuse to return mistakenly-sent-money:  1. OPAY doesn’t have physical branches like traditional banks. So you cannot really report them.  2. They believe you can’t tra...

Why Are New Nollywood Producers Going For Younger Talent?

New Nollywood producers tend to go for younger talents.  The likes of Timini, Stan Nze, Tobi Bakre, Sharon Ooja, others.  They're hot and it's their time. I gerrit.  But you have some old Nollywood actors who aren't as young as the aforementioned actors, at the same time they can't be considered old.  They're in that mid-age range.  For example: Nonso Diobi, Oge Okoye, Maureen Solomon, Chiege Alisigwe.  These ones are usually not featured in cinema projects despite their talents.  It's almost like top producers don't want to work with them.  Could it be a case of resentment on the part of the new generation of filmmakers? I mean, the old Nollywood actors had their days.  Could it be a thing where they're like, 'they thought they were the main attraction back then'. Or 'dem been think say na dem get Nollywood'? I might be reaching, but I feel they're deliberately being overlooked by the current guys at the top.  I feel low-...

Nostalgic Nollywood Scenes

Remember when Nollywood gave us this type of scene repeatedly in the 90s? Lady cruises down the road in her sleek Daewoo sports car. Picture her as Susan Patrick. Suddenly, the car slows, she says "damn it!" And slams her palm on the steering wheel in frustration. She pulls over and steps out in this trouser suit and high heels. She opens the bonnet and stares at the engine, confused.  She stands beside the car, unsure of what to do next.  (Somebody that would've climbed Okada since to where she's going). Suddenly, a Mercedes 230E pulls up in front of her.  It's Kenneth Okonkwo and his almighty dimples.  He says, "hi young lady, seems you're having troubles with your car."  "Yea, I don't know what the problem is. I have a meeting I can't miss." "Hmm, let's see..." He does abracadabra while touching the engine and radiator, the car starts immediately.  No spanner, no engine oil, nothing!   She qu...

Enioluwa is this, he's that. But Enioluwa don first una get babe wey set.  We're talking international baddie.  With all the lipgloss and softness, he's loved and deemed worthy of commitment.  Why Eni; why not you that knows how he should act as a man? You see him holding a pretty chic's hand on the streets of Paris - and you don't think he deserves to live his life because of how he presents. Word on the street is that he's fa'king the relationship for his audience.  Mgbo, you that is real, you're in your 15th talking stage. Why haven't you made any headway? Meanwhile, this sumoh boy with shiny lips has carried his babe from Tanzania, to Naija, to London, and counting.  They've even collabo'd on a love song just to spray more atarodo in ya eyes.  You sef know say shame suppose catch you. 😜 Go Eni!  BTV Reporting

As A Content Creator, Always Build Your Personal Brand

As a content creator, if you get an opportunity with a brand, don't abandon your platform. Whether you have 2k followers or 5k, don't let that bigger platform dictate your path.  You may feel like you've elevated because of the pay and exposure from the big brands, until you realize nothing is promised. Let me tell you a story about a popular American radio personality, broadcaster, and DJ Ebro Darden.  Ebro Darden is a big name in the radio scene.  He's best known for co-hosting "Ebro in the Morning" on Hot 97. A popular radio station in New York City that focuses on hip-hop and urban music. He's an influential figure in hip-hop and had beefs with artists like 6ix9ine and Drake.  People wait for his opinions on trending topics, they listen to his insightful commentary like the Bible.  He hosted the Ebro in the Morning show for 13 years, until it was cancelled in December last year.  Having made a huge impact as an OAP, naturally he...

Ladies Are Now Using Lubricants On Their Hairs?

Ladies come ooooo On Tiktok, I saw some babes and even hair vendors now using Kiss Lube Gel (lubricant) on their pixie curls. The after result was very very nice. It brought back the curls, in fact it seemed like the curls were thicker, it also made the hair really shiny. The wig/hair end results were reallyyyyy fine. Watch video on the comment section.  Anyways, ladies. What do you think? Are you open to trying it?

Korra Obidi Replies A Troll With Ted Talk

A troll decided to try Korra in a recent livestream.  If you know Korra well, once she loses her cool, she goes all the way in. The person told her to go back to Naija - that she was taking from their country.  I liked her response to the troll. She said there's no such thing as freebies in the States and she and other imm+gr+nts pay their taxes Despite being a 'You-ess' citizen, nothing is being handed to her on a platter, not even welfare support from the govt.  Like if she slips and falls while twerking, $3k go fess comot from her akant for medicare.  So what exactly does the person mean by living off their land? According to her, the only thing she's enjoying is good internet, security, making her type of content freely without any har+ssment. And she can get a home anywhere as a single lady (unlike where she comes from). Actually, they're the ones benefiting from her, she said.  The huge amount she pays in taxes from shaking her small nyash is w...

YouTuber's Boyfriend Suspected Of Having A Hand In Her Death

This YouTube influencer celebrated her birthday on April 5. Her fiancé took her on a trip to mark both her birthday and their engagement, she was proposed to her birthday. It was a surprise proposal. Sadly, she was found dead on April 9. Her fiancé reportedly called the police, claiming she died by suicide by hanging. However, her family insists she showed no signs of depression. According to them, she was happy, thriving, and in a good place, especially with her relationship and everything else going well in her life.  As the news spread, followers began revisiting her photos and videos, with some pointing out that her fiancé often had a certain look that raised suspicion. He looked at her like he hated her. I saw the pictures. Many now believe he may have been responsible for her death and is attempting to pass it off as suicide. Reactions online have been divided. Some Black American men have openly expressed a lack of sympathy, they are happy...
