Akon's Recent Interview With Shade Room About How He Helped Nigerian Musicians

After Akon's recent The Shade Room interview, the part people ran with was his views on polygamy. Instablog clipped up that part and posted for debates.  I thought that was the least significant part of the interview. The guy spoke about how much he poured into Nigerian artistes. Why Are New Nollywood Producers Going For Younger Talent?

New Nollywood producers tend to go for younger talents.  The likes of Timini, Stan Nze, Tobi Bakre, Sharon Ooja, others.  They're hot and it's their time. I gerrit.  But you have some old Nollywood actors who aren't as young as the aforementioned actors, at the same time they can't be considered old.  They're in that mid-age range.  For example: Nonso Diobi, Oge Okoye, Maureen Solomon, Chiege Alisigwe.  These ones are usually not featured in cinema projects despite their talents.  It's almost like top producers don't want to work with them.  Could it be a case of resentment on the part of the new generation of filmmakers? I mean, the old Nollywood actors had their days.  Could it be a thing where they're like, 'they thought they were the main attraction back then'. Or 'dem been think say na dem get Nollywood'?
