Why Do So Many Youths Want To Do Fraud?

So, this electrician came to my house the other time to fix some basic stuff.

He did a good job, but I was taken aback this morning to receive a message from him stating that he is available to learn work from me, and in case I have an online update to share with him, he will be grateful because he is tired of this work.

Online update?

Confused, I had to call him in case I did not get the memo about the new online update.

And then he said, 'Senior man! I know you Dey street. Please connect your brother.'

I was further confused because I don’t understand what he means by street.

Street! From where to where?

Only for him to bluntly say, 'I know that's what you do. You are a yahoo boy. Please, your brother wants to learn work too.'

I don’t know whether to get upset or to laugh because the whole thing sounded very funny to me.

I also did not understand what he saw in me that gave him the impression that I’m a yahoo boy, but regardless, I spent the next 30 minutes trying to educate him that life is not binary, and you don’t necessarily need to be a yahoo boy before you live a comfortable life as a young person living in Nigeria.

Look around you, there are so many life-changing opportunities around you that you can leverage to change your life, low-hanging fruit that can change the final outcome of your life.

You are already doing well as an electrician; you just need to upskill to learn how to fix inverters and solar, you will triple your income and make more money for yourself.

From there, you can travel to China to see how to import solar and inverters from China because it is highly in demand at the moment and a lucrative business.

Start small with the importation of solar and inverter, then scale up. Your life won’t be the same again, I promise you.

Update Dey my brother! You don’t necessarily need to steal from another person for you to live a comfortable life as a young person in Nigeria.

I don’t know whether he was convinced by my sermon, but whatever it is, we have a job to do, my people.

We can’t allow a generation grow and then waste their youth and potential with the mindset that yahoo yahoo is the only route to escape poverty in Nigeria.

That is not true.

Ezra and Shola are 40 years old; they were 30 years old when they founded Paystack.

Flutterwave's founder, Gbenga, is 40 years old too.

The same with Tosin, Moniepoint CEO; they are all 40 and they escaped poverty by going to school, learning a skill, and becoming valuable.

That is the only way I understand.

Learn a trade, a skill, and go to school.

Any other thing is false and not something a young person should aspire to.

I’m glad I spoke to this guy this morning. I hope he listens to me, but we need to convert more people with a twisted mindset like him before we lose a whole generation.

Lady Claims VDM Is The Father Of Her Child

The Woman Who Claimed VeryDarkMan Fathered Her 9-Year-Old Daughter, The Full Breakdown by Fidelis Ozuawala. For those who couldn't watch the video, i couldn't too as the audio was bad, i used the transcript tool in the Learn with Fidelis platform to fetch out the audio, and i used the Optimize tool to optimize and proofread the texts, that's how i got this plain english. Listen and Enjoy!.. --   A woman walked into VeryDarkMan's office with one of the boldest claims ever.  She said VDM (Martins Vincent Otse) is the father of her 9-year-old daughter. VDM and his lawyer, Barrister Marshal Abubakar, sat her down and patiently dismantled her story piece by piece.  Here is how the whole drama unfolded. "I don't have a life of my own any longer, I am more or less a dead person" That was how the woman opened. Very heavy. Very dramatic.  She said the problem started 9 years ago in 2017, then corrected herself to 9 and 8 years ago.  The timeline was alr...

Akon's Recent Interview With Shade Room About How He Helped Nigerian Musicians

After Akon's recent The Shade Room interview, the part people ran with was his views on polygamy. Instablog clipped up that part and posted for debates.  I thought that was the least significant part of the interview. The guy spoke about how much he poured into Nigerian artistes. Then he was a global phenomenon. He'd signed successful artistes like Lady Gaga and T-Pain. So his eyes were on Nigeria. He'd noticed that Wizkid was super talented but Banky W didn't have the resources to position him internationally. So he signed Wizkid to his label, Konvict Muzik. Their partnership helped put Afrobeats on the global map before others took things to the next level. Collaborations like "Escape" and "Don't Dull (Remix)" dropped, and Wizkid's international career took off!  His support opened doors for Wizkid's future global hits and collabs. Next, he developed artists like Psquare and D'banj. He said the music made by our artists ...

Why Are New Nollywood Producers Going For Younger Talent?

New Nollywood producers tend to go for younger talents.  The likes of Timini, Stan Nze, Tobi Bakre, Sharon Ooja, others.  They're hot and it's their time. I gerrit.  But you have some old Nollywood actors who aren't as young as the aforementioned actors, at the same time they can't be considered old.  They're in that mid-age range.  For example: Nonso Diobi, Oge Okoye, Maureen Solomon, Chiege Alisigwe.  These ones are usually not featured in cinema projects despite their talents.  It's almost like top producers don't want to work with them.  Could it be a case of resentment on the part of the new generation of filmmakers? I mean, the old Nollywood actors had their days.  Could it be a thing where they're like, 'they thought they were the main attraction back then'. Or 'dem been think say na dem get Nollywood'? I might be reaching, but I feel they're deliberately being overlooked by the current guys at the top.  I feel low-...
